Easting: 624969
Northing: 5439862
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: Massive silty dolomite, purple colour with interbedded matrix supported angular conglomerate up to 2cm wide. Some bands have green clot minerals but also show a green “oxide” on surface, unlike where observed elsewhere. Overlies unit described in CCU-055.
CCU-058
Date Collected: 6th October 2020
Station ID: CCU-058
Easting: 625131
Northing: 5439527
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: Outcrop of basalt with contact of overlying siltstone. BASALT: mainly massive but with vesicular textures lower down. Speckled with bright orange oxide in cubic pits (?after pyrite?). Rock is generally altered to a green colour. Whole face is run through with veins up to 3cm wide that cross-cut, bifurcate and form stockworks. Veins have banded infill, often quartz rim with a darker brown or purple core. Larger veins are heavily oxidized, and some smaller veins host the green-platy mineral in their selveges. SILSTONE: Fine grained with dessication cracks. Cracks are infilled with sub-rounded basalt flake. Possible that this is actually a pyroclastic horizon with a silstone veneer. Bedding / Contact at 297/42, Quartz-Carb veins at 296/72, Veins with centerine at 280/64, Slickensides trend 118/32 and fault plane is 263/58.
CCU-059

Station ID: CCU-059
Easting: 625127
Northing: 5439506
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: Basalt with vesicles infilled by chalcedonic quartz, green ?epidote or partially filled with a hematite rim. One 2cm barren qtz vein noted. Base of section appears to be pillows, so sequence with CCU-058 goes pillow basalts with brecciated material and mudstone at top, basalt flows (subaerial) with stockwork and oxides, pyroclastic flow with lithic fragments, siltsone with dessication cracks and then back to shallow marine bedded silts.
CCU-061-A
Date Collected: 6th October 2020
Station ID: CCU-061-A
Easting: 623532
Northing: 5441003
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: Large outcrop dominated by buff coloured stromatolites overlying medium-grained sandstone. Stromatolites are dolomitic with green/red on sedimentation surfaces. Some break open to reveal large but indisctinct veins with calcite / barite bladed crystals and a rusty brown oxide. These units are unerlain by the sandstone unit which hosts vuggy veins. It is hard and silicified with speckled mm-wide oxide blebs. Veins are rodded, oxidised with the mystery cubic black mineral associated with sandstones here.
CCU-063
Date Collected: 7th October 2020
Station ID: CCU-063
Easting: 621301
Northing: 5443162
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: Buff outcrop of banded fine grained sandstone, weakly metamorphosed to a quartzite and silicified. Sandstones pass upwards into a cross-bedded unit, then a pyroclastic with lithic fragments, thin mud with dessication cracks topped by stromatolites.
CCU-066-A
Date Collected: 7th October 2020
Station ID: CCU-066-A
Easting: 619110
Northing: 5445112
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: End of road turnaround. Bedrock / subcrop exposed in floor. Dominant host is bedded siltstone but silicified. Center of clearing are pink bariet veins / stockwork outcrop. Green mineral is ubiquitous green mineral, usually as clots or as veinlets. This sample is the siltstone country rock.

CCU-067
Date Collected: 7th October 2020
Station ID: CCU-067
Easting: 619441
Northing: 5445261
Datum: NAD83 Zone 11
Description: End of newly pushed road. Subcrop influenced by tree roots to look clay altered, and hard to get decent measurements. Appears to be a banded siltstone grey, but with bands of green and maroon. Tabular red crystal found in float at base of cut, ?calcite? This crystal has been cut through and is therefore before the formation of sub-mm veinlets. Fracture surface covered in red oxide speckles.

Description: Large new roadcut. Orange to buff coloured sandstone interbedded with ripples siltstone. Sands have open pore space with extensive garnet formation. Garnets appear red and opaque when whole, but when broken are green. Some layers in sandstone have a greenish hue.
